Fritz, the spider

May I introduce Fritz. He is a garden spider and lives on my balcony (although I strongly suspects he's a female).

Someone kill the priest, please

I'm suffering from severe sleep deprivation, since the local priest has the peculiarity to wake up the whole village at 5am with the church bell. Now I understand why I've never been a member of the catholic church!

One bad turn deserves another

What a night and day. My elder brother had had his tonsils removed two weeks ago. He picked me up from this hicksville in Tyrol on Friday. We had the whole weekend to visit our parents and have some fun in Vienna. So far everything went fine and it was just fabulous. Nice weather, nice parties, tasty beer, what else can a free mind demand?

However, on our way back to Tyrol/Munich my bro started bleeding (13 days after the surgery!). It's really scary when someone spits a mouth full of blood onto the floor. This happend on a Autabahn parking place and we had to turn around and speed back to the next hospital in St.Pölten, where they decided to operate again. When my brother woke up after a complication free surgery it was around 1am. No problem so far, if I didn't have to work the next day - 600km away.

Eventually, I spent another night in Vienna and had to drive to work the next morning (with a new BMW 1.18D, sweet), which took me ridiculous 7 hours due to "some" truck traffic. Now, I'm still trying to mop up the outstanding work I would had done before noon...

If I'm ever going to get out of this lab today, I'll jump off a mountain.

Human Resources...sheesh

I don't talk about human resources departments in general and I do appreciate the work they have to do in course of their daily duties. I just think it's ridiculous to answer to an application email with a delay of only seven months. At least I got a response... many, many firms didn't even make that far.

Zzz-eadbutt revisited

Versions of Zizou's headbutt onto Mazzerati's chest keep popping up in the WWW like mushrooms. I proudly present a fine selection:

The "recent" days

Germany got kicked out, Italy is world-champion, "Zizou" plays bulldozer and I totally forgot about my blog (although I still have brilliant ideas while showering). My significant other is enjoying her time in Oxbridge, Verona, Pisa, ... hmm, I miss-planned my summer.

Currently, I prepare vast amount of buffers (>1 cubic meter) in turn of my internship at Sandoz (Novartis daughter) in Tyrol - "thrilling" work. I hate when human resources issue incorrect information: Allegedly, I should have worked in development of upscaling processes for the pilot plant.

Most of the time the weather is absolutely fabulous, though I managed to get completely wet in one of the summer thunderstorms on my way home. Funnily enough, one only gets caught in such down-pours, while transporting water-sensitive things. This time my birth-certificate and passport almost dissolved - Murphy's law...
