Buffer bath

I managed to get bathed until soaking wet in pH 8.5 Tris/HCl buffer with a tasty splash of sodium chloride. How? Just walk into a room where 50 litre column explodes right when you enter the room. One of the apprentices blocked the column exit and the pressure went up to 20bars. I was literally pissed...

I'm just wondering why the pressure alarm didn't pop on. Crap machine from the last century.
